WiNN KENYA

Our WiNN Kenya chapter is incredibly active and engaged and is driven by women whose experiences span across different science, research, and experiences. Our Kenya chapter hosted our 2023 Global Conference in Nairobi. They are also active in creating new opportunities for Kenyan women in the marine conservation world and took the lead on coordinating our 2023 Mentorship program, supporting 15 mentors from Kenya, Mexico, Nepal, Nigeria, and Peru as they shared their experience and knowledge with 21 mentees.

Members of our Kenya chapter include Dr. Caroline A. Ouko, Senior Research Scientist / Ag Deputy Director at the Centre for Training and Integrated Research in ASAL Development and our Kenya chapter's team lead since 2019; Dr. Faith Muniale, a Programmes Manager at Tropical Biology Association; and Dr. Judith Okello, our Chapter Networking Lead and a Senior Research Scientist and marine ecologist in the Department of Oceanography and Hydrography at Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI).

WiNN Kenya welcomes and encourage any women to come and join us as we strive to conserve nature in Kenya now and for generations to come! Contact us at womeninnaturenetwork@gmail.com.

WiNN is a safe space for women from different disciplines, across continents. And WiNN Kenya, where we have ladies from chemistry, in governance [and other disciplines]- we are already setting an example for other countries in Africa that will start chapters.
